Travelers Rest 'paints the town purple'
Travelers Rest business owners and municipal employees have been busy “painting the town purple” to help raise awareness for the Travelers Rest Area Relay For Life, an annual American Cancer Society (ACS) fundraising event.
Buildings and lampposts throughout town are decorated with all things purple – purple ribbon, purple bows, purple signs, purple flowers, and purple wreaths, to name a few – in support of the campaign.
The relay, during which teams camp out overnight and take turns walking the track, is scheduled to take place at the site of the former Travelers Rest High School on Wilhelm Winter Street in Travelers Rest on Friday, April 26 beginning at 7 p.m.
