The Greater Travelers Rest Chamber of Commerce hosts a variety of events throughout the year, featuring networking opportunities, speaker engagements, and awards. These are some of our most popular signature events.
Annual Awards Banquet – January
The Annual Awards Celebration brings Travelers Rest business leaders together to celebrate the past success and future plans of the Travelers Rest business community. At this event we award the Business Person of the Year, and the Citizen of the Year.
Annual Appreciation Picnic for our Public Servants – September
City employees and family are guests for this special event, as we honor their dedication and commitment to our wonderful community. Don’t miss this opportunity to show your appreciation and be an integral part of the celebration!
Community Shred Event
This is our annual FREE shred event in partnership with the Travelers Rest Historical Society. Bring your paper to be shredded and responsibly disposed of. Participants donate non-perishable food items to benefit the Foothills Family Resources and North Greenville Crisis Ministry food banks.
Coat Drive – November
Every year we clean out those closets and donate our gently used (clean) coats, scarves, hats and gloves. Donations are distributed to the North Greenville Crisis Ministry and Foothills Family Resources.
Holiday Parade – December
Start the holiday season off right with Travelers Rest’s Annual Christmas Parade. This event is a community favorite, and a great chance for the season’s first sighting of Santa! Any community group or business may enter a float, performance group, or decorated vehicle. The parade will depart Main Street and Roe Road promptly and proceeds to the Bank of Travelers Rest Main office on Plaza Drive to meet with Santa and pass out awards. Spectators begin setting up chairs early in the day, so make sure to arrive early for a good view!
The Annual Christmas Parade falls on the second Saturday of December and begins at 11:00am. Check our event calendar for details on submitting an entry, sponsoring, and viewing.
Have you planned your entry in this year’s parade? It’s only 8 weeks away!
